St Joe’s Virtual Advent Calendar

 Each school day during Advent we will post a Christmas picture from around the school.  They will be displayed alongside a bible verse. The bible verses were selected by our Chaplaincy Team.

Year 2 Zone of Relevance

Year 2 working on a ‘Zone of Relevance’ task. We sorted words associated with feelings into the different Zones according to how relevant they were to Beegu at various points in the book. 

ICT designing houses

In ICT Year 5 have been designing houses using Google Sketchup.

No Pen's Day in Year 3

 Year 3 have started looking at the book The Firework Maker's Daughter. In the story Lila's dream is to become a firework maker, something her dad doesn't want her to do because she is a girl. She decides to go defy him and goes on a quest to get the Royal Sulphur. 

Year 3 did a great job acting out the conversation between her and her friend on whether she should go or not. 

Rounding puzzles

Today in maths Year 5 worked on rounding numbers. The class was set a challenge of answering a rounding questions puzzle, which when answered correctly should make the shape of a hexagon or rhombus.

Year 2 steel pan drumming

Year 2 have started to learn steel pan drumming. Here is us on week 1. We are starting to learn ‘Away in a Manger’. 

Reception Making Bread

This term we are learning all about ‘The Little Red Hen’. Unlike the dog, cat and duck... we LOVED baking bread.

 

Chaplaincy Team Commissioning Service

Today the Chaplaincy Team met (socially distanced in year groups) for a commissioning service.
