Raising money for the Clifton Diocese Schools Project (Uganda)

Year 6 & the Chaplaincy Team have been raising money for the Clifton Diocese Schools Project.  Members of the Chaplaincy Team have been selling toys in each of their classes. We raised a fantastic £211.25.

All the money raised will go towards helping to provide clean water resources and tree planting in Uganda.

What will happen in the future?

Year 6 have been looking at probability. We thought about the chance or likelihood of particular events happening in the future. The activity sparked lots of discussions.

17th December St Joe's Virtual Advent Calendar - Acts of Kindness

The final day on our Advent calendar is for a member of Year 5. Due to his acts of kindness, he became the first winner of our St Joseph's Cup. He grew his hair for two years so that it could be cut and made into a wig to support a child with cancer. He is also raising money for this worthwhile cause.

"For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son. God gave his Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life." John 3:16

Making future clothes from throwaway items

Today Year 6 have been thinking about the clothes of the future as part of their 'Back to the Future' topic.  We thought about the environmental dangers facing our planet and how large clothes manufactures are seeking to make more of their products from recycled items, such as plastic bottles. The class was set the challenge of making clothes of the future from throwaway items.
