ELLI skills lesson in Year 2

Year 2 begun the term with a lesson where we talked about Elli’s friend: the Resilient Tortoise. We talked about how we can be like the Resilient Tortoise and why this is important to help us learn. We then tried to stand up back-to-back with our arms linked with a partner. It was very challenging but we didn’t give up!

Moving jelly with chopsticks!

Year 5 undertook a fun science activity which required lots of resilience. The children needed to move pieces of jelly only using chopsticks. After this was completed, cooking oil was added to make the task more slippery.  We discussed the forces involved and what happened when the oil was added.

CAFOD National Assembly: Eyes of the World

Today the school watched a special Cafod assembly on the climate crisis.

The climate is in crisis and it affects us all. But it is the poorest communities who are suffering the most. The eyes of the world are on us this year as Britain hosts world leaders for the United Nations' climate change talks -COP26. The assembly talked about how we can come together to look after and care for the world which is crying out for our help, and tackle the climate crisis.

The school will be undertaking more work on this before the COP26 meeting. Below is a prayer by Pope Francis.
