Looking at wars since World War 2
Today is International Peace Day. Year 6 have been looking at the location of wars since WW2. We quickly realised there were so many wars it would take too long to locate them all.
Peace day - Refugees
Today for Peace Day Year 6 have been studying refugees. We built refugee tents to highlight the number of refugees fleeing war and persecution. Refugees are forced to leave their homes behind and travel to a new country, often to set up home at a refugee camp with tents.

Monopoly
This afternoon, Year 6 enjoyed a game of Monopoly. As well as being great fun, the game provided lots of opportunities to improve our maths such as money and calculation skills. We also found the meaning of the vocabulary in the game such as auction, rent and tax.
Together in God's family we love, grow and learn
Today we started the whole school topic: 'Together in God's family we love, grow and learn.' For the next two weeks, classes will be exploring our school mission statement; undertaking learning on our school charity work in Uganda and focusing on the St Joseph.
