 During Advent children will have the opportunity to take home an Advent prayer bag.

St Joe’s Virtual Advent Calendar - Catholic Social Teaching

For this year's St Joe's Virtual Advent Calendar, our focus is on Catholic Social Teaching.

Each school day during Advent we will post pictures or videos displaying an aspect of Catholic Social Teaching. They will be displayed alongside a bible verse. The bible verses were selected by our Chaplaincy Team.

Lubaina Himid

 Year 6 have been studying the artwork of British artist Lubaina Himid. 

Faces in history

Year 6 have placed themselves into different times in history as part of their 'Back to the future' topic. The children needed to find photos from 1950 to the present day and then used ICT skills to place themselves into it. 

Remembrance Day

Today the Chaplaincy Team joined Father Paul and parishioners from St Joseph's Church for an act of remembrance.

The Transatlantic Slave Trade

Recently as part of Black History Month, Year 6 have been finding out about the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Today, we focused on Bristol's role in the slave trade. We searched the internet to find out how various locations in the city are connected to the slave trade.
