20th December St Joe's Virtual Advent Calendar - Catholic Social Teaching
Today's act of Catholic Social Teaching focuses on the common good & preferential option for the poor. Year 5 & the Chaplaincy Team have been raising money for the Clifton Diocese Schools (Emmaus) project. We raised a fantastic £300.82. All the money raised will go towards helping to provide clean water resources and tree planting in Uganda.

Today's act of Catholic Social Teaching focuses on the common good. Year 1 talked all about how we can show love to other people and who we can love. They discussed how we should love people who are different to us and not just our friends. They then decorated a heart to show how we can reflect God's love in the world.

Today's act of Catholic Social Teaching focuses on stewardship. A kind member of Year 1 donated a hedgehog house and hay as she found out hedgehogs were endangered and wanted to help them. Year 1 talked about what endangered means and how they can be good stewards and look after them. They then took the house outside and put hay in for the hedgehogs.

Today's act of Catholic Social Teaching focuses on stewardship. Year 3 discussed sustainability and how the school can help to reduce the amount of rubbish we produce. They decided to recycle the empty pens from school rather than just throwing them away. In groups they designed a box for every year group to place pens in when they run out. At the end of Advent these pens will be sent off to be recycled.
