Since having all the wonderful children back in Reception Class, we have been exploring the story ‘Dear Zoo’.
Using talk for writing, we have learned the Dear Zoo story off by heart using actions and practising our story telling voices.
Our next step was to explore the characters and write words describing them.
Today after changing our class story, some children during their independent planning time, chose to write their own story maps, draw characters, label the characters and add a word to describe them. They used their sounds to help them segment the words and created some wonderful stories. Please see all the photos!
Most children chose to share them with the whole class at the end of the day using big story telling voices.
Amazing progress and creativity!
